SEASON CANCELLED
Submitted By Amanda Walchuk on Thursday, February 11, 2021
It is with the deepest regret that the Clarington Thunder executive announces the cancellation of this year’s season.

Every attempt has been made to try and come up with a scenario where we can play hockey again this year, but we do not anticipate being able to return to the ice safely. Even if the Durham Region were to return to “red” level restrictions, it is not viable to have only 10 players on the ice at a time for practices with the number of players that we have. To compound the issue, the municipality has pulled the ice from two of the three facilitates that we operate out of. Unfortunately, that means we have decided to cancel the remainder of this year, and focus our efforts on a 2021-2022 season.

Refunds of $100 will be issued by cheque and mailed to each player.

EDITED March 4th **Cheques have been put in the mail. Please allow for 2-3 weeks for their arrival.

Thank you to the coaches, players, parents, staff and volunteers for helping the association through this difficult time. Stay safe.
